PWR 91: Farmers, Scientists, Activists: Public Discourse of Food Economies is a community engaged service-learning course created by Erica Cirillo-McCarthy for the Program in Writing and Rhetoric at Stanford University. Students were paired with community partners concerned with food economies and wrote with/for these partners over the course of the winter 2017 term. Students composed multimodally, in multiple genres, and for multiple audiences. This site serves as the archive for students’ final public projects. Please click on the different projects below to view their documents. Please click here for our syllabus and information about the course, the students, and the community partners.
In July 2017, the Stanford Report published a story on students enrolled in Farmers, Activists, Scientists: Public Discourse of Food Economies. Please read students’ perspective of their experience.
